Dimraeth multiplayer supports solo play and online co-op for up to eight players in total. Sessions use peer-to-peer hosting. Your hero’s personal progression can travel between worlds, but the story, recruited allies and buildings remain with each world.

Steam’s progression description and Mudtek’s multiplayer FAQ checked September 16, 2026. No first-person connectivity or performance testing is claimed.

Party size, solo play and hosting

Steam describes seamless drop-in/drop-out co-op for up to eight players: you and up to seven others. Mudtek’s FAQ also says the game can be played solo from start to finish. Multiplayer is an option, not a requirement to form a full party before playing.

[1][2]

The official FAQ describes peer-to-peer sessions, with one player acting as the host when a group starts a game. It does not describe an always-running dedicated world service.

[2]

Dimraeth is not an MMO according to the FAQ. Its online mode is for small groups; it is not presented as a persistent public world containing hundreds of unrelated players.

What travels with you, and what stays in a world

Travels with the heroRemains tied to each world
Character levelStory progress
Equipment and inventoryRecruited allies
SpellsBuildings
Personal progressionThe world’s associated progress rather than the hero’s portable progress
[1]

This distinction matters when your group changes worlds. Bringing a developed hero does not mean importing the other world’s buildings or moving its recruited allies. Steam explicitly separates those world-owned elements from the character’s equipment, spells and personal progression.

[1]

For a group building a shared home, decide which world you intend to continue together. That is a practical consequence of world-bound buildings and story progress, rather than a claim that every player receives an identical independent copy of them.

Local co-op and dedicated servers

FeatureOfficial FAQ status
Local / split-screen multiplayerNot supported at the time of the source check; online co-op is the supported mode.
Dedicated or private serversNot currently supported according to the FAQ.
Solo completionSupported from start to finish.
Peer-to-peer hostOne player acts as host for the session.
[2]

The FAQ’s private-server wording concerns server support. It should not be stretched into an unverified claim about every possible session-privacy option, host-migration behavior or save-recovery procedure. Those are separate questions.

[2]

Before continuing a shared adventure

  • Choose the world whose story and home you want to continue, because those elements are world-bound.
  • Separate your personal inventory and spells from the group’s world state when deciding what you are bringing into another session.
  • Use the official Discord’s looking-for-group channel if you need other players; Mudtek points players there in its FAQ.
[1][2]

Connection troubleshooting depends on the specific error and game version. Mudtek’s FAQ explains hosting and group play but does not give an error-by-error recovery procedure.
